Summary

The Clinic Professional Coder reviews medical documentation and inputs charges for the clinic practices.  Accuracy is assured by reviewing documentation to ensure appropriate coding and charge submission for professional charges is thoroughly captured.  Responsible for timely entry and coding to keep revenue cycle performance current. 

This is 100% onsite.

 

Minimum Education

  • High School diploma or GED, including vocational training in relevant area.
  • Associate's Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.

Minimum Work Experience

  • 1 year experience with data entry, CPT and ICD coding.

Required Licenses/Certifications

  • Outpatient Coding Certification recognized by AAPC or AHIMA.  (Apprentice accepted)

Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities

  • Knowledge of ICD-9/10 and CPT/HCPS coding systems.
  • Basic understanding of medical anatomy and physiology.
  • Demonstrated strong knowledge of basic computer skills.
  • Excellent analytical skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. 

Pay Range: $19.67 - $29.08
