Environmental Services Tech Surgical

Performs tasks essential to maintaining a safe and clean environment for surgical patients and staff.  Maintains a clean and sterile environment in surgical areas, including operating rooms, recovery and pre-operative areas by following established procedures and protocols.

Minimum Education

• High school diploma or equivalent.

Minimum Work Experience

• Prior work experience in the environmental services field preferred.
• Experience working in sterile/infection control environment desirable.

Required Licenses/Certifications

• D.O.T. hazardous material certification or ability to obtain.
• C.S.C.T. (Certified Surgical Cleaning Technician thru AHE) *

*Or obtain with 12 months of hire.

Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities

• Working knowledge of AORN and AHE cleaning and disinfecting best practices and ability to put into practice.
• Good communication skills
• Demonstrated ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions.
• Time management skills
• Ability to innovate new methods of service delivery.
• Ability to remain calm in stressful situations without evidence to patients and visitors.
• Demonstrated Moderate knowledge of basic computer skills.
• Ability to physically perform tasks as indicated by successful completion of functional testing.

Pay Range: $16.60 - $24.65
