Summary

The Clinic Access Specialist gathers and coordinates all information relevant to consultations and/or referrals with physicians either in house or being referred to other facilities.  This position supports new patients attempting to navigate medical insurance benefits and financial assistance opportunities in regard to their treatment plan/services as well as adding expertise, research and problem solving to those involved in the billing process.  Additionally, this position provides targeted education to the patient about how to navigate important information. As part of a dynamic and supportive team, is able to assist in other roles as needs arise to maintain department workflow and a positive patient experience.

Minimum Education

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Associates Degree in business or related field preferred.

Minimum Work Experience

  • 5 years of medical insurance/billing experience or other aspects of revenue cycle.
  • Medical Assistant experience preferred.

Required Licenses/Certifications

  • PACS (Prior Authorization Certification Specialist) Preferred

Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities

  • Basic Microsoft Windows desktop application and navigation skills.
  • Excellent written, verbal and listening communication skills.
  • Working knowledge of RRMC Revenue Cycle and payer guidelines.
  • Working knowledge of coding and prior authorization guidelines helpful.
  • Detail oriented.
  • Highly discreet, able to routinely handle confidential materials.
  • Able to manage multiple priorities and assignments.

Pay grade: $18.53 - $27.51
